Albie started his career path in the South African Navy as a chef in 1993, then tried his hand in the motor industry selling auto parts in 1994, but finally settled in the commercial printing industry in 1995. With his father entering his 45th year in the commercial printing industry in 2011 and having been involved in some way or another in the industry his whole life, it was almost like an arranged marriage of sorts and totally unavoidable!

During his time at Sentraaldruk Albie assisted the in-house graphic designer, Martin Cook, with the stills he shot for a variety of clients with his medium format Mamiya RB67 and Broncolor lighting and that is where his love for photography started taking shape. Today he's a full time freelance editorial, food, product and portrait photographer represented in both the USA and South Africa working out of his studio based in Silverton Ridge , Pretoria.
